Finally! An update! Be prepared for a slew of photos. It's been so long since I last posted I feel like I have some catching up to do. Veronica is fabulous and completely enjoying toddlerhood. She is such a joy to be around. And still, after all of this time, I look at her in complete amazement. It's clear to me that will never go away, which in many ways is a blessing. The big news is that Veronica was officially discharged from physical therapy. Her motor skills are exactly where they should be at this point. The only obvious delay we see right now is in her speech. While she clearly understands so much of what we say and do, we haven't heard the words yet. A speech therapist recently started coming out once a month so we're hoping to see some progress over the next few weeks. We have entered our second RSV season here in Maryland but we haven't made any plans for isolating Veronica like we did last year. I'm hoping we don't regret that decision. Our pediatrician made no recommendation to do so and Veronica didn't even qualify for a second season of Synagis, something I have mixed feelings about. So it's back to lots of hand washing, hand sanitizer and prayers for an RSV free winter!

All your kids are precious! Veronica is looking so much bigger. That first winter without Synagis is scary. We didn't isolate ours the 2nd winter but we were still cautious. Veronica almost weighs what Camdyn does, and Camdyn is 2 yrs 8 mos. Camdyn took longer for speech to develop too, but she is really taking off with talking now.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!!! Veronica is so big. What a beauty!
ReplyDeleteso glad to read your update!! she is so big and love her smiles. ours are getting synagis and i am so glad we didn't have to fight any insurance or doctors. they offered and we gladly took it. we are being cautious but not isolating completely, since Isabella goes to school and has friends over. BUT I still get super nervous if someone gets too close etc and my hands are so dry from washing :) we just got approved for 6 more months of physical therapy but they are sure they might be done after that. No speech yet but the boys may soon be candidates for it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the PT discharge!!
ReplyDeleteShe looks great!
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through grahams foundation and there are so many similarities in our little girls. It is so helpful to read about you and your family as you are about 6 months ahead of us in this journey. Congrats on all of Veronica's recent progress. She is beautiful.
