Motoring

We're really starting to see some progress with Veronica's motor skills.  For a while I felt like the progress was slow; but not anymore.  She is rolling from back to tummy now and is reaching forward - almost as though she is trying to crawl.  A physical therapist came out a few weeks ago with our usual occupational therapist and both were impressed with what they saw.  The PT estimated that she may begin crawling in about two months or so.  Physical therapy will  be starting this week and she will have it twice a month.  The OT services have been discontinued for now but will be available if any issues come up in the future.  The wonderful thing about our county's early intervention program is that Veronica is automatically eligible for services until she is 3-years-old - whether she needs the services or not.

We're so proud of her new skills!

  1. OH. MY. GOODNESS! She is SO cute!! Congrats Veronica!! Wow, I can't believe how well she is lunging! Bella can roll both ways, but she refuses to get on her knees or lunge. She tries to reach as far as she can while sitting, and then gives up if she knows it's too far and she will fall. :( Your little cutie is doing so well! I bet you are one proud Momma! :)

  2. Oh my God. She actually reaches over by kneeling and that is a very good sign! Look at her rubbing her feet together. So cute. By the way, I've always thought Veronica reminds me of the baby in Gerber logo. Has anybody else mentioned that?

  3. Yay Veronica! She is so sweet! I love how she moves her legs when she got excited when she was sitting, Kai does the same thing when he gets excited! She is well on her way!

  4. She is doing GREAT!!! Look at those chubby legs. I do have to also say although Ella is "mobile" she does NOT even come close to getting on her knees like that. What a little doll!

  5. By the way. Early intervention is dependant on STATE specifications. Ella got "kicked out" when she was 3 months old or an adjusted newborn because she was "too advanced"!?!?! Are you kidding me? They told me for her to re-qualify she would need to fall 3 standard deviations behind for her adjusted age. Sigh. One of my BIG pet peeves!!!
