May 6

Veronica had a fairly good day.  She remains on the ventilator as you can see by the picture.  We really hope she can successfully transition to CPAP soon.  Her weight is about 1 lb, 13 oz and we're anxiously awaiting the day she breaks 2 lbs.  She has been tolerating her feedings well so they have been increased to 8 cc's of breast milk ever three hours.

Clearly the progress is slow.....but little by little, she is growing and gaining strength.

  1. Marcie- I'm going to focus my prayers on the nurses caring for Veronica-that they are always compassionate and competent in their assessment and skills. That they are instruments of God's love for you and your family. I am so sad you werwe forced to learn all this medical speak: but you are doing a great job with all of it! Take care of yourselves as best you are able. Love, Ann

  2. Hi Marcie- I have been thinking about a patient of mine who was born very premature- about 2 pounds. She is doing amazingly well- practically no medical problems. She is adorable, petite and 94! Stay strong and Happy Mothers Day to a wonderful mom! Love, Gina

  3. I have to say she looks like Andrew. Sorry Marce! Or rather, she looks like Theodore did when he was a baby.
